Are you the kind of person who tends to overly apologize?
Over-apologizing is when you say “sorry” when you don’t need to.
This could be when you didn’t do anything wrong, but you take responsibility for it anyway.
Like when…
The waiter brings you the wrong order and you apologize for the mistake.
Or you apologize for bothering the clerk at the store, even though it’s their job to assist you.
Or maybe while checking out at the supermarket, the cashier’s machine breaks, and you turn to the person behind you in line and apologize for taking so long.
There may be many reasons why we do this, but the bottom line is, apologizing when there’s no need is a problem.
