Ever find yourself on the brink of a kitchen squabble over something as simple as boiling eggs?
That happened to me recently, and it turned into an unexpected lesson in managing frustrations and choosing my battles.
In the midst of me boiling some eggs, my husband came in out of nowhere and decided to switch pots to save energy—a small action that unexpectedly sparked a big internal reaction from me.
I’m curious – would this have annoyed you?
How do you think you would have reacted?

Love this! I have so many moments like this throughout the day. At first I didn’t think it was something that would have triggered me but after imagining it really happening I realized that without taking a stop I probably would have either acted like and felt like a doormat, or would have asserted myself and possibly escalated the moment into an argument. Kudus to you! Hope I can remember to take a stop next time a seemingly ‘unimportant’ moment manifests.
So glad this episode resonated with you, Helen! I’m so glad we’re in this practice together.
