In this podcast episode, I discuss the significant role of language in managing emotions and enhancing well-being. The term “stuck” is pivotal in my approach; recognizing when you’re “stuck” on an emotion is crucial because it signals that there’s a method to help you move forward. I encourage rephrasing emotional states, such as changing “I’m angry” to “I’m stuck on anger,” to remind ourselves that emotions are temporary states we can navigate through.
The ability to articulate feelings accurately not only helps in identifying emotions but also in adopting new perspectives to shift them. This mastery of language and its application in everyday life, as shared through personal and family experiences, underscores how powerful and transformative clear communication can be in resolving emotional challenges.
